I really like the looks and feel of this weapon, though I have not done alot of reserch wondering about a slug barrel. Do they have a slug barrel for it or can you get it as a combo?
I just bought a black 887. it was a bit stiff and dirty out of the box. after cleaning and a bit of oil it cycles well.
It comes in two configurations. All black with a modified choke or in a camo version with a "waterfoul choke" I am not sure if it is more open or closed than modified. Check the Remington.com site for details.
Just recently purchased the 887 Nitromag. Ran all 3 different shell sizes through without a problem. Noticed a big difference in recoil. Far less than before (even on the 3 1/2"). Feels good. I think Remington has a winner here!
I bought one last week - I got to say so far I\'m impressed! Heard rumors of "feeling cheap", "poor quality" etc. etc. - I\'m happy with it and can\'t wait to get it into the duck boat. The recoil is very manageable for any 12ga. - especially a Remington. Can\'t beat the price either!
Checked out this gun at local shop, feels solid and from what I have been reading the polymer coating protects the receiver and barrel and it looks durable. The camo pattern looks real good too.
just bought one too. picking it up on monday. cant wait to take it out. i was wondering if they had extended mag tubes for the 887 or if the 870 mag tubes are compatible. can some one get back to me if they know anything about that please? and i was also wondering if its possible to shoot the sabot slugs with a standard modified choke tube without harming barrel or other components?
I got my rem 887 about 3 weeks a go and I started dove hunting with it out of the box.I have shot over 300 rounds without any problems with the gun, The recoil is very nice.I think Im going to give my 870 a rest this year. This gun is outstanding also very good buy for under $400 this is a very good all around gun.Im very please with Rem on the new 887.
i bought this gun took it out duck hunting and the ejection port cover slips over the pin and gets jammed anyone else have this problem. other then that i love the gun.
just bought ming this week took it out of the box less than 12 hours later and pounded gesse all dayyy!!! waterfowl choke will reach out and grab them, recoil is a breeze even with 3 1/2\'s, and the short draw of the pump makes it easyer to get off 3 rounds effectively. No probelems with action, no jamming, very touch gun love it might buy a black one for trap lol
i have one of these on order, in new zealand, mine is the 1st one sold over here, i have taken the tester out and confermed what i thorght unbelevible fire arm, this gun retails for around $1000 over here , i here that there is a back order at the remington factory, so i have to wate. we shoot in may for 31 days, so season is extreamly short for us, but cant wate for the clay bird shoot.
